How to subscribe to RSS feeds using Firefox Live Bookmarks

With the levels of spam increasing everyday, people have become reluctant to subscribe to mailing lists. This makes it very hard for Internet users to stay up to date with new content published on the web and even harder for businesses to stay in contact with prospective clients. Luckily there is a new way of staying abreast of all the new content published on the Web each day. This new revolutionary technology is called RSS feeds. An RSS feed is very similar to a bulletin containing the latest news headlines.
The beauty of RSS feeds is the fact that you stay anonymous from the site hosting the feed, in other words you do not need to supply any personal information to subscribe to an RSS feed. All you need is an RSS Feed aggregator to read the contents published in RSS feeds. We will explain step-by-step how to subscribe to RSS feeds. You can skip steps 1 and 2 if Firefox version 2 is already installed on your computer.
Step 1: Downloading an RSS Feed Aggregator (Skip this step if Firefox 2 is already installed)
A very popular and easy to use aggregator is the Live Bookmarks feature of the free Web browser called Mozilla Firefox. To visit the Firefox download page, click on the button below.
Once you have opened the download page click on the button reading "Download Firefox With Google Toolbar". Read the Privacy Notice and click on "Agree and Install". A file download box should appear, click on the "Save" button, choose the location where you want to download the file to, make sure the file name is FirefoxGoogleToolbarSetup.exe and click on "Save" again. Wait for the download to complete.
Step 2: Installing Firefox (Skip this step if Firefox 2 is already installed)
Open the file you just downloaded (FirefoxGoogleToolbarSetup.exe) and follow the easy onscreen instructions. (The easiest way is to click on the "Next" button until you reach a screen where you can click on "Finish").
Step 3: Subscribing to an RSS feed
To subscribe to an RSS feed using Firefox, open Firefox, go to the page containing the link to the RSS feed and click on that link. Wait for a new page to open.
Click on the "Subscribe Now" button, enter a name for your feed in the "Add Live Bookmark" screen and click on the OK button. The feed should now appear on your Bookmarks Toolbar. If your Bookmarks Toolbar is not visible, click on the View menu, then on Toolbars and then on Bookmarks Toolbar. You will now be notified when the website update their RSS feed with new content.
